colour coding

BLUE for "der", RED for "die" & GREEN for "das".
Colour coding techniques have always helped with learning new languages.
Der Die Das | German Game of Articles uses this vocabulary acquisition process for memorizing German noons and articles.

special sounds

Funny sound effects and background music make every article gender training stand out. They add life to every stage.

Der Die Das

4 training stages

For every thematic world there are 4 training stages. One stage for "der", one for "die", one stage for "das" and the
SUPER POWERFUL mixed stage!!!

2 testing stages

Take an optional pre-training test to check your knowledge and play a post-training SUPER FUN game to see what you 've learned so far.

54 Thematic Worlds

The game has 54 thematic worlds to discover and every world has one Der article learning level, one Die article learning level and one Das article learning level.
In order to complete those levels, you are given 20 to 28 moves to match at least 3 tiles of the similar icon. Then your goal is to match each icon 16 to 20 times and if you don’t use all your moves, the remaining ones give you bonus points. So, the less moves you use, the more points you score to climb the leaderboard. Thus your goal is to get 3 stars in each level and then you can play the mixed level. Equally important, all article learning levels have no time restriction. Above all, Der Die Das level has its own unique aesthetics.

First of all The blue color is dominant in the Der level and the sound effects have a masculine and funny tone. The pink color is dominant in the Die level and the sound effects have a feminine and funny tone. Finally The green color is dominant in the Das level and the sound effects have a childish and funny tone.

By all means using specific colors and sound effects makes it easier to memorize the words and their articles. Specifically the thinking progress behind the sound design and the colors of each level was to make it easier for you to memorize the words and their articles. Therefore you can play any level you want again and again to get more points and become the number one player on our leaderboard!

Rules for der, die, das

In fact some languages don’t have gender definite articles, other have 2, masculine and feminine, German is amongst the languages that has THREE.  Der for Masculine nouns, Die for Feminine nouns and Das for Neutral nouns. As a result for learners that do not use definite gender articles in their mother tongue, learning is a difficult task. Even though for those who do use gender articles in their native language. For them it is even harder as in many, many cases the same words have different genders depending on the language.
For example, let’s talk about “the chair”: It is masculine in German (der Stuhl), but feminine in French, Spanish and Greek… Of course you will wonder: “So how can one learn what applies for the German Noon Genders?” Certainly there are rules but there are also many, many exceptions. In any event you will most probably end up needing to memorize A LOT!!!
